Can any 5755 owners (specifically 5755-6832) give me a general idea of what they like/don't like about their computer.
I'm looking at this one - STAPLES | BUREAU EN GROS from Staples Canada right now.
I am interested in what the heat is like - my current laptop is on at least 14 hours+ a day, and never gets very hot at all.
I'm also wondering if anyone knows if the Windows Home is a 64-bit system?
This will be my first time owning a laptop without a matte screen. Is the screen on this model going to bother me?
I was especially impressed with the keyboard on this laptop - I type a LOT and it seemed really solid, little flex and nice feel to it.
Any comments you have about this model would be helpful. Thanks!

Hi,
Just bought the 5755-6832 at staples in Brandon MB about a month ago. I'm really impressed with the features, speed, durability and all around value. I was a little concerned that it didn't have a video card, but because it had 6gig of ram I thought it would be ok. I've had streaming video running on 2 tabs and 3 other pages open as well and it was still very responsive with no lag. Features like Wi-Di, Bluetooth and USB3 are not usually found on laptops at the price I paid (549.00), so that was an added bonus too. I like the screen, and have had no issues with it and I agree with you about the keyboard as well. I grabbed the wireless HP mouse with the keylink usb adapter that was on sale for $10 (I hate touchpads) and would recommend this laptop with no hesitation. -
Hello threebluestars,
I bought the 5755g-6823 from newegg.com Xmas and overall it is a good laptop. I replaced my aging HP laptop that a dual mobile core CPU.
The 5755 runs cool and has good response times with programs. My version came with 4gb of 1333mhz RAM in it. The startup time is decent for a second gen i5 CPU. The keys do take a little time to get used to. Some keys need to be hit at "center" and not from an "angle". The space bar can be a pain. It must be hit from "near center" otherwise it won't re-act to your touch.
I did modify mine with a seagate 750gb hybrid drive and I use a laptop cooler for any minor games I play on it. I do use a cooler when gaming. The most intensive game (Empire: Total War with alot of mods) does make the laptop throttle.
The screen is fairly decent. It does seem to be more "white" or flush white than I prefer. But, it is not really bad. A few tweaks and it is okay.
Overall...it is a decent mid-level game/work/school laptop.
