    Hey guys.

I'm looking to upgrade the LCD panel to a FHD panel.

As I'm doing my research on this, I have concluded that I need a 40 pin dual channel LVDS cable and of course the new LCD panel.

    I have settled on getting a B156HW01 v.4 panel...
However, I have a hard time finding a dual channel LVDS 40 pin cable for my model.

Would anyone have any idea where to get a FHD cable that's 30 pin on motherboard side to a 40 pin lcd side with a breakout for a 5 pin webcam connector?

I tried ordering an Acer V3 cable from aliexpress from Hyde... however I missed the fact that the Acer V3 uses a EDP connector cable instead.

    Thanks

If the laptop you have has never been offered with FHD screen there will be no dual-channel LVDS cable for it.
There is an off chance that a cable that would fit had been used in a different laptop however Acer never bothered to offer FHD screens on its 15" notebooks until recently, so it's unlikely.

You may want to go through service manuals (see the sticky) looking at FRU part of it. Try finding out what the single channel cable part number is (from the service manual for your laptop) and try searching other service manuals for this number. If Acer offered FHD and non-FHD models - both cable numbers will be mentioned.

Other than that I can't help much, sorry.

Thanks for the quick reply bro.

You're on to something, if the same part number was used in another laptop that's offered with FHD, then I would be able to find a dual channel version of it.

If a 40 pin cable does not exist of the 50.R9702.003, which is the single LVDS cable, would it be possible to get the 30 pin connector of the 50.ASR07.002, from the 6930G and get a 30 pin screen?

As my theory is that Acer would be using the same connector on the motherboard... and there would be a chance it would work.

I emailed laptopscreens.com about interchanging a 40 pin cable with a 30 pin cable and they said they're not interchangeable. Looks like my idea won't work.

So now my question is, would there be a chance that another 40 pin dual channel LVDS cable from acer would have the same motherboard connector?

If so, could you guys help me locate one? I'm scouring the internet and service manuals so far but nothing yet.

I bought a cable from aliexpress made for the Acer V3. I was almost so sure it would fit... however I got the cable today and the motherboard connector is too long and the LCD connector is too small.

I was so sure it would fit but I missed the fact that the Acer V3 uses a EDP cable instead.

This is the stock cable and the connector on the motherboard. If anyone has any idea on where to get a cable that would fit it would be helpful..
