    hi all,
while i'm flashing the bios the system hangs.....

After long time i decided to reboot and the notebook doesen't start.

I search the net and i have found that some acers notebook have the bios recovery function, powering on with the keys FN+ESC the system flash the bios from a usb bottable pen.

Someone knows if this procedure works for acer 5920 ?

    Thanks

I made some resarch using google. So the answer is yes. All phoenix bios has this feature since around 2005. Here is what you have to do:

    1. Download phoenix crisis disk from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?3ccb9m0kv0m

    2. Follow instructions:

    a) Simply unpack this file (crisis phoenix disk - adamus2001) and put it in any medium (i think so) I myself used a cdrom to do so.

adamus2001 -> you have to replace bios.wph with file from acer e.g. ZD13811.WPH (remember to reneme to bios.wph)

    b) Disconnect battery and Ac adapter

    c) Connect USB Floppy drive or a USB Flash Drive or insert a Cd(whichever u choose).

    d) Press [Fn]+[Esc] and plug In the Ac Power adapter, and then press Power button.

    e) Release the buttons. Notebook should read the crisis disk. There will be no sounds, no beeps. It took about 2-3 minutes and notebook powered down itself.

    f) Then plug in the battery simply power it on.

That’s all. Now normal screen appears and acer is alive.

    I get this instruction from:

    thx Ahsan!

also here you can find some usefull information

Please give us information if it works (It really should)

Thanks for the guides,i tried but the problem is that the pc doesn't power up, no leds, no fans, no noises....

When i push FN+ESC, plug ac and then push the power-on nothing happens (the pc doesn't power up, no leds, no fans, no noises) the pc doesen't try to read the usb pen and the led on the pen isn't powered.

I verified with another notebook that the usb pen boots correctly.

If so, most likely there is nothing you can do. The only option is acer support.
