I installed XP on my Acer 5920 and everything works fine, i haven't had a single flaw. However I have recently run into an issue in which I can not plug in a microphone, the built in microphone is the only one that will work. Any mic plugged into the front jack will just not be used.
If anyone knows why that might be, or knows how i can disable the built in mic and use only the jack mic I'd really appreciate that.
    Thanks in advance,
    Cheers

you probably have to change the mic jack to the default microphone option...as you've found out, it seems the notebook mic is currently set to default.

I on the other hand can't get my notebook mic to work. it did earlier, but now all I get is static if I try to send a message.
