Its been a while since I actually bought a HDD for my laptop or my desktop pc so havent been up to date. I remember that at one point I was going to get a bigger hdd for my desktop but remember thinking that sata II is not compatible with sata so ended up putting two hdd's in instead. I may have be wrong though...

Im back at that situation now as I am going to get a 320gb (sata II) hdd for my acer 5920 as 160gb is not enough for me but I am not sure whether a Sata II hdd will work as all the other models I have seen come with a max 250gb SATA hdd.

Come someone please advise me on whether or not the sata II hdd will work in an acer aspire 5920?

(BTW, my model has the T7300 processor and the 8600gt graphics card.)

SATA II hard disks are compatible with SATA I. They use the same connector, and all other aspects of them are identical. The only difference is the maximum data rate, which is 300 MB/s in SATA II, and 150 MB/s in SATA I.
