Hey all, I was wondering if the 3 gig partition that was created by Acer, which is supposedly for Acer Arcade, is something that is need to run my computer? I would like to delete it and use it to dual boot the new Kubuntu distribution instead of using a usb disk. I know the bigger partition is used with the d2d recovery utility but is there something important on the smaller partition? Thanks for your help.

If I get delete that partition will I have problems booting though? I'd like to replace that partition with another OS.

If I never plan to use that feature on my laptop, will regular windows and the recovery utility still be accessible? Sorry if I sound like I'm asking the same thing. I just don't use that utility and I want to get rid of it, and replace it with something else.

I deleted the partition in question (Arcade) and it appears that the recovery partition does not work anymore, so I deleted it too - but who cares if you can just burn recovery DVDs? Don't forget to burn a driver DVD as well since you might decide to do a fresh Vista install in the future (highly recommended if you know what you are doing and how to find the latest drivers).

So if I delete the 10 G and the 3 Gb partitions, then I won't get that problem anymore? I read suggestions in another thread, that if you press the small man-icon or the "hold" button on Cinedash, then Acer Arcade Deluxe will start up. What happens then if the partition isn't there anymore? Do I have to configure the boot-menu or something like that? Do I need the 10 Gb recovery-partition, now when I have made the two recovery-DVD's?

On my system, once I rewrote the MBR (master boot record) with a fresh Vista install, pressing the Arcade button simply booted my system into Vista.

Hello,
I have accidentally deleted all the partitions on the disk. Could you please tell me how can I restore the Quickboot Acer Arcade partition ? Hopefully I had already created the Factory Default DVDs. Is the Quickboot partition restored by these dvds or they restore only the operating system ?
Thanks in advance
