The DVD drive on my 4 month old 5920G is starting to worry me! It feels really weak like it could break everytime I open / close it! It certainly seems to be getting looser and looser...

I guess this is just because the quality of the drive is very poor? Has anybody actually had any problems with it - has it broken? Or does anybody else have a wobbly drive like me!?

Well the 'quality' of the drive's performance is fine - but I mean it doesn't feel very stable. Is this common with other laptops? I worry that it will break!

I've replaced original multi drive with HDDVD drive from Toshiba only because I wanted to watch HDDVD over Acer's HDMI port. Both drives work fine but feel a little bit "wobbly" when open but it's OK as this is a price for portability and all laptop's drives feel the same but work fine if you don't abuse them. Just be more gentle with them compare to the desktop drives.

There are different types of dvd drives in certain 5920's. For example i have a slimtype, but there are others with lite-on, etc..so these models can be different in quality.

I did not know about that as I tought that 5920G was being sold only with the Toshiba drives.
