    Hi all

My mum has just purchased the Acer 5920G and is useless with PC's. She entered a password on initial setup and cannot remember what she had entered. It now tells her to basically reformat the HD.

A note under the setup of the password reads:

If you lose the Empowering Technology password, there is
no way to reset it except by reformatting your system. Make sure
to remember or write down your password!

Anybody got any pointers as to a way round this issue. Reformatting is an option but i live 200 miles from her so was hoping for a quick fix.

    Regards in advance, cheers.

Sorry-you'll have to either reformat or look somewhere else (if it's possible to do at all).

You may be able to either write instructions for her or have someone local help format.
We don't discuss ways to break passwords at NBR due to the possibility of theft/unsavory characters.
