I only got this laptop less than a week ago (5 days to be precise) and I've already been having problems![]()
Basically, I will press the power-button (as you do) - after a complete shut-down previously - but instead of the laptop coming to life, the screen stays *dead*. No lighting or flickering, just turned off and as if you were staring at a powerless laptop. The only hitch is that the rest of the blue lights (media lights etc.) and the power light are all saying the laptop is on. The HDD light flickers too. It seems as though my laptop is on, but the screen says "no"!
Any ideas / help? It's happened 4 times now, in maybe 10-15 boots. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary, unless you call installing Norton Internet Security trial version absurd...
Cheers for any guidance!

Try to restore your laptop
What bios version you are using ? 3708 is the newest one

Well I haven't done anything to the laptop really..so nothing to restore. How do I check my Bios version?
I guess that because nobody else has posted, then this isn't a common problem with brand new Acer 5920G laptops...so could it just be a unique fault with mine? -
