It won't run the HD DVD. It doesn't support the 8600gt because it wants me to update my video card or something, but I have 169.04 drivers.
Anyone have success? This is very frustrating because I am running an OEM version of Vista and not the Acer version, so Play DVD won't install.
So I have this HD DVD player with no software to play the movies.

Well it will work but you have to install orginal drivers form acer website ( http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_5920.html). I think it is becouse of some drm (HDCP requirements). Other possibilty is to use anydvd in version which supports hddvd & blue-ray ( http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvdhd.html).
