Hi,
I'm planning to buy a 2.5" external hard drive usb powered and I wonder if the power from the usb of the 5920G is enough to make it work... What do you think?
TIA
-
Well it depends on hard drive, I have heard that some 2.5" HDDs works without power supply just from USB port that outputs max 0.5A 5V and some doesn't.
-
I have read in some reviews that some laptops work with this drive and some don't because it needs 0.65A power surge... Does it mean that some laptops have more than 0.5A output? What is the accurate 5920G output?

I would seriously recommend the WD Passport 2.5" external USB drives. Got a 250GB one running a dream with my 5920. One cable, no extra power required. Tiny and light drive that fits in your pocket.

Same here. I am using WD Passport 2.5 160 GB portable hard drive

and it works perfect with my 5920G. One cable here as well as no extra power supply. I can strongly recommend that drive. The speed is also fantastic. -
