Hi,
I've bought this lappy but I'm concerned about the heat, it really gets hot on the top left corner where it says Dolby. I think I can fry a egg. Nevertheless I let the notebook on all the night (about 8hrs) with Oblivion loaded and it don't give any issue but the temperature was 80ºC!
The idle temperature is always around 47º~50º.
I saw that the clock of the CPU is always 2ghz and never changes even when is on max battery profile. I had a travelmate 4002wlni with a 1.6ghz and the CPU clock under clocked itself to 600mhz. Is this normal?
What do you think?
Thanks

5920G- Should I be concerned of overheating? -
Ok, thanks.
I'm a bit disappointed on terms of heat but life is not perfect.
About the other question, the speed throttling is not functioning, is always at 2.0ghz. My laptop is faulty or this is normal?
Thanks -
you may want to try and undervolting, it helped for me. I'm using rm clock and its staying around 70c according to RivaTuner and cpu core reading around 54c accroding to rmclock, after playing wow on full setting for over 4hrs.$ I dunno why they have different reading and which is more accurate. It also drops my 1.5g to 1.0g when idle. Only issue I'm having with rmclock is when the laptop goes to hybernate it kinda crashs upon wakeup. so i just turn it off before closing it.
another interesting thing i've noticed is that how the cpu load is always around 30% and up, even idling. Os load is around 0-2% at idle, like it should be. -
first of all what is cpu throttling cuz i am noob
2nd i dont get wat the person above me is talking about -
"Increase and decrease processor clock speed to save power and reduce heat" -
Ok, I was using nhc to see the temperature. Now, I installed speedfan/nvtune and I've this temperatures when idle:
37º~40º for CPU
58ºC for the GPU
and when in full load (Oblivion running again all the night)
60º~65º for CPU
80º~90º for GPU
It's big difference! Which reading is right?
I'm going to try rmclock but I think the notebook should do the throttling itself.
Do you think my lappy is faulty?
Thanks -
Your lappy works well -
and we usually deal with speedstepping technology, wich really adjusts processor's clocks depending on the load
