Hi
I was just browsing the net and after restarting the system strange sounds came from the area where my hdd is located. Bios does not recognize the WD hard drive anymore. All I care about now is to get my data back. I am uploading the vid of the symptoms.

You should try to connect it to a working computer via USB adapter and see if it's seen then.
I doubt that will help though.
If that doesn't work your only hope is companies that recover data from damaged HDDs (which will be quite expensive)
Also- and I know I' gonna sound annoying- buy a NAS and schedule a daily differential or incremental backup. That will be your future problem-solver if something like this happens. -
yeah...It sucks when hd's crap out
anyone try carbonite? -
Any chance of me being able to get my files back by myself? I dont have any cash on me right now ;p. Ill try to connect the hdd to brothers desktop pc. Any other suggestions?

If it doesn't get detected either way than there's nothing you can do yourself.
I don't know the exact prices but when a friend of mine had to use Ontrack a few years ago ago it was damn expensive (and entirely successful)
