hey everyone just wondering if anyone knows where I can find a guide to what my laptop will support memory and cpu wise. And also where I can find a technical guide.

I want to upgrade the memory, but Ive been reading that they wont support the 800mhz ram.

Also Ive been reading upgrading the cpu is possible, but not even sure where to start with laptops.

I do like my 5930, but did have to "Upgrade" to xp and get a new harddrive which is all done by me already. I was a computer tech but never really worked on anything other then toughbooks! And this is nothing like that.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

The Acer 5930 comes with Centrino2 cpu and should have as a result a Montevina chipset as well.
By default, it should support DDR2 800 MhZ type of ram.
If not, consult with Acer on the BIOS update.
Usually that will solve any of the issues/questions.
