I've purchased my Acer 5935G around Christmas in Hong Kong (where I live) and it cam installed with Vista. At the same time I also purchased a Windows 7 32bit and installed it from the scratch. It works fine, but I've never gotten hibernate to work (it just doesn't wake up). I have installed all the drivers from the Acer web site and I tried a few things here and there to troubleshoot this. What I didn't try is reinstalling everything again from scratch to find out step for step where the hibernate stops working (or if it ever worked actually).

Now I am wondering, was the Acer 5935G ever shipped with Windows 7 on it preinstalled? If it is, I may just try to hunt down a recovery CD or an image of the original hard drive recovery partition.

Any ideas? Acer Hong Kong and Microsoft were not very helpful...
