    Hi there,

I'm currently trying to fix a laptop for a family member. For some reason, after no alterations what so ever the laptop no longer powers on. Essentially it keeps restarting in a loop :

    - Power on
    - Lights come on
    - Fan briefly spins (stops I'm assuming due to temp being low)
    - Disk drive moves/spin and HDD moves and spins.
    - Powers off, rinse and repeat the above!

Whilst trying to fix it, I managed to get it booted just randomly a few times, but now we seem to be stuck with no boot.

I've read multiple posts with similar issues, some point to a possible BIOS corruption. I've tried replacing the RAM modules, swapping the hard drive, completely dismantled and checked all connections.

    Any opinions much welcomed!

    Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem. I had a failed update of bios. I am trying recovery the bios, using various methods pendrive, floppy usb disk, cd, but I don't obtain any results. Did you resolve the problem?
