    Salve Ben

    Cerca qui => http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_6920G.html

Spero ti serva il nostro aiuto.

    Auguri e Buona Fortuna!!!

P.D: Il service di Acer a volte non he cosi buono...
P.D2: Scusate il mio italiano anche!!!
P.D3: My next reply will be in english (as it should be btw), I just wanted to welcome you with a "friendly" post (mi manca la Sardegna!)

I think that is not a virus because i had do a recovery 2-3 times, and the Acer Assistance Too (much times i tink).

Is possible that a virus resist from total recovery?

Tomorrow i call of new the Acer, but i have fear than I respedict the pc and will return with still defective.

    ps:i love Sardegna... :D

If you haven't already, you might want to check your event viewer. Doing so may give you an idea about what is causing your issue.

Another thought: did you install any new apps, or new hardware just prior to the beginning of the freezes? If so, you might consider uninstalling or disconnecting one by one anything which was new at that point.

you may have three firewalls running by the looks of things
windows fire wall needs to be disabled in services.
if you have a router with a firewall you don't need a firewall on the pc. just make sure the firmwire for the router is the most up to date.
hence a conflict two firewalls windows and Macfree. :D

EDIT: just thinking out loud :D

    all the best,
    Phil :D

have we tried the laptop connected to the ROUTER with a CAT5 network cable instead of WIFI?? try that and see if the problem still persists

if it does,,, then try the laptop connected directly to the DSL or Cable Modem
PC may have to be rebooted to reset the IP address and DNS info...
after rebooting di you still have the delay??

i'm just trying to figure out if it's due to the WIFI,, the ROUTER,, or the laptop

try those things and report back

sounds like the next time your laptop is working use msconfig>start-up tab>and un-check all the unused programmes.
then go to (if possib) Blackviper.com and shut a few services down.
and create a shortcut for services on desktop and restart Windows zero configuration still sounds like a conflict to me.

    BigO:
that add for vista sounds worrying !

This might a bigger issue with this model of Laptop.

My roommate just bought one two weeks ago. With little additional software added, it would freeze at random. Eventually, it frooze and then wouldn't boot up anymore (even with a different hard drive).

Luckily the store he bought it at was willing to give him a new one. Unfortunately, it started freezing after just using a fresh reload (from the restore DVDs) after surfing for about 10 minutes.

    His Laptop

I'm going to keep looking around the interwebs but I wanted to post this so that you guys are aware.

I've experienced this problem once. It happened when I changed my T2370 with T7500. I had my T2370 undervolted with RMclock and I didn't wipe out the settings before the cpu swap. So the laptop, with the T7500 was freezing exactly like the freeze problem described here. 2 minutes and freeze, force shutdown then 15 minute and freeze etc. T2370 has different voltages, different power states..
My point is, maybe the reason for '6920 freeze' is power(cpu) related..Defective socket/cpu..

You could download and try RMclock and OVERVOLT...I know it sound crazy but I would give it a shot...

Ben83: Could you download and run this program? Let it run for 15mins. Let us know if it freezes up again. It will test your hardware.

there's stuff on there that you could stop.
you need to look at some of the acer stuff you are not using
you have got some heavy apps running.
hoe much do you use msn.the sidebar and what are you doing in firefox ?
if you are not sure on a processes google it and fragg it if you don't need it then msconfig and stop it running at start-up.

dwm.exe must be a nice desktop but do you need it. try a static desktop like black :D

siteadv.exe is another one. its a link scanner in your anti virus.it slows down your browser as it checks
100's of web site links in google.
