It can be a virus or the site.Try using a different browser like Firefox.

Salve Ben
Cerca qui => http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_6920G.html
Spero ti serva il nostro aiuto.
Auguri e Buona Fortuna!!!
P.D: Il service di Acer a volte non he cosi buono...
P.D2: Scusate il mio italiano anche!!!
P.D3: My next reply will be in english (as it should be btw), I just wanted to welcome you with a "friendly" post (mi manca la Sardegna!) -
Thank you guys.
I think that is not a virus because i had do a recovery 2-3 times, and the Acer Assistance Too (much times i tink).
Is possible that a virus resist from total recovery?
Tomorrow i call of new the Acer, but i have fear than I respedict the pc and will return with still defective.
ps:i love Sardegna... -
what firewall software are you using??
you might try disabling the firewall software for a few minutes... and see what happens -
yup....check the firewall, check for defragmentation and try cleaning up the registry....it cud also be a conflict with any other program u may have installed....i dont think it wud have anything to do with BIOS..?!
-
the firewall is the windows original firewall....
i think that is a conflict with a original acer program....i try....for now i disabilited plug-in of explorer but not have effect.... -
ahhh i think now....but is possible to is a problem of nvidia geforce 9500 m GS?
-
laptopvideo2go.com
might try that??... gotta be easier than mailing your PC to Acer -
Thank you,i found the driver of Wi-fi was not the ultimate, and i install new driver...i hope that was this the problem...
-
i may have a link to newer drivers if your WiFi is an Atheros
bigO -
My Wi-fi card is the:
Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN
And i install the driver from the control panel-System- ecc ecc
and the new driver is:11.5.0.32
The other netcard is the:
Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 PCI-E Ethernet Controller
This morning i had install Firefox and now i try with it.
And i disactivated the Mcaffe Firewall for internet....
i hope is ok now.... -
here is the link for Atheros drivers
http://www.station-drivers.com/page/atheros.htm
just incase you need it....
later,
bigO -
If you haven't already, you might want to check your event viewer. Doing so may give you an idea about what is causing your issue.
Another thought: did you install any new apps, or new hardware just prior to the beginning of the freezes? If so, you might consider uninstalling or disconnecting one by one anything which was new at that point. -
Good for now nothing problem....i hope to continue
-
Strange< i do not have this problem
-
thanks,
bigO -
This morning i installed the Firefox 3 in change of the 2.
Quickly the pc represent the problem, and this is the blue screen that i see:
i'm becoming maddddddd -
ah i think that now i reinstall firefox 2 but i think that the problem probably was the internet wi-fi connection...Is possible that a connection do that problem?
-
its a conflict....thats why it is leading to a physical memory dump..
-
Vista or XP?
-
vista ultimate sp1
-

you may have three firewalls running by the looks of things
windows fire wall needs to be disabled in services.
if you have a router with a firewall you don't need a firewall on the pc. just make sure the firmwire for the router is the most up to date.
hence a conflict two firewalls windows and Macfree.
EDIT: just thinking out loud
all the best,
Phil -
i disactivated the mcafee firewall now...
-
the freeze continue and tomorrow i will control the router firmwire
-
try and see if the error log has any reports on the freeze ?
-
have we tried the laptop connected to the ROUTER with a CAT5 network cable instead of WIFI?? try that and see if the problem still persists
if it does,,, then try the laptop connected directly to the DSL or Cable Modem
PC may have to be rebooted to reset the IP address and DNS info...
after rebooting di you still have the delay??
i'm just trying to figure out if it's due to the WIFI,, the ROUTER,, or the laptop
try those things and report back
bigO -
ok thank tomorrow i do this idea...
in the last freeze there was an advertisment of WIN VISTA than report:
the 16 bit memory is full or a simil phrase.... -
make note of any errors that pop up,, they may help us in solving your problem
bigO -
sounds like the next time your laptop is working use msconfig>start-up tab>and un-check all the unused programmes.
then go to (if possib) Blackviper.com and shut a few services down.
and create a shortcut for services on desktop and restart Windows zero configuration still sounds like a conflict to me.
BigO:
that add for vista sounds worrying ! -
could be not enough room on hard drive ? -
-
we may have found something that should not be going on !
but im guessing the laptop will freeze before any thing can be done. -
This might a bigger issue with this model of Laptop.
My roommate just bought one two weeks ago. With little additional software added, it would freeze at random. Eventually, it frooze and then wouldn't boot up anymore (even with a different hard drive).
Luckily the store he bought it at was willing to give him a new one. Unfortunately, it started freezing after just using a fresh reload (from the restore DVDs) after surfing for about 10 minutes.
His Laptop
I'm going to keep looking around the interwebs but I wanted to post this so that you guys are aware. -
I've experienced this problem once. It happened when I changed my T2370 with T7500. I had my T2370 undervolted with RMclock and I didn't wipe out the settings before the cpu swap. So the laptop, with the T7500 was freezing exactly like the freeze problem described here. 2 minutes and freeze, force shutdown then 15 minute and freeze etc. T2370 has different voltages, different power states..
My point is, maybe the reason for '6920 freeze' is power(cpu) related..Defective socket/cpu..
You could download and try RMclock and OVERVOLT...I know it sound crazy but I would give it a shot... -
the screenshot
cpu 0
and cpu1
-
Hmm.. how come one of the cores is idle and the other one is maxed out..?
-
-
He didnt take the screenshot the same time. He probably went into paint and saved the screenshot then took the other one
Ben83: Could you download and run this program? Let it run for 15mins. Let us know if it freezes up again. It will test your hardware. -
in the first no have error
in the second during the run i use in the same time firefox ad i had a freeze, but after 2 minutes the pc return ok,but the program that i have run before don't sign nothing error....
is strange...or not? -
up
Up up up up
-
What..? Solved?
-
how much ram do you have and what type.
and just would like to see running processes screen shot
just sounds like an infected machine or one running loads of junk.
just a Hoggie thought
Phil -
I don't resolve, but i attend another 7 days and after i resend the pc to Acer Assistance.
This is the screen shoot:
 -
there's stuff on there that you could stop.
you need to look at some of the acer stuff you are not using
you have got some heavy apps running.
hoe much do you use msn.the sidebar and what are you doing in firefox ?
if you are not sure on a processes google it and fragg it if you don't need it then msconfig and stop it running at start-up. -
dwm.exe must be a nice desktop but do you need it. try a static desktop like black
siteadv.exe is another one. its a link scanner in your anti virus.it slows down your browser as it checks
100's of web site links in google. -
now open services and go to blackviper.com and shut down all the services you don't need or use.
and disable or switch them over to Manuel. -
loads of acer junk running.will get a screen shot of wifes laptop processes. you will see no acer junk what so ever in vista.
-
Yesterday i disinstall the most part of Mcaffe for Interet guard, and from yesterday i didn't have freeze....i hope this is the just move...
