I've had my Acer for about 2 years now no problem. But its just recently it started shutting down randomly. It would not give an error message nor tell me its shutting down, its like if the power for the laptop just shutoff randomly. I would loose my work, open processes, everything I was doing.

I am pretty tech savvy myself but this is a problem I have never encountered. Is this a hard drive failure? I can go for about 1 hour sometimes without this problem. This problem sometimes happens before the computer even boots, and even sometimes when I am in the middle of doing something.

I tried fixing this problem by using DBAN and re-installing my OSs (Windows and a linux distribution)

This is really getting annoying.. Any help is appreciated.

Make sure that it's not overheating by monitoring temps. If you suspect HDD failure please post SMAT status for us to take a look at- preferably from HDTune (free version)

Yes.. If I ever get the chance to even get enough time to do so, I got to the website and downloaded the trial, but it closed on me.. :/
And its not ever heating, cause its off all day but when I go to use it it happens.

There are no issues with the HDD according to a SMART status- nothing even hints at any problems there so it's safe to assume it's not HDD-related issue.

Overheating is the most common issue- make sure that the vents are clean- use canned air to clean them- a lot of dust may have accumulated there over the years.
Can you post a screenshot showing from HWMonitor- 6920 doesn't report CPU temps properly but it may be of some use anyway.
