    Aspire 6920G 1.16 BIOS

Can't confirm it works on Win 7 64bit as I've flashed it on Vista 32bit.

I'd avoid flashing the BIOS unless you know for certain that the update fixes something on your system.
If something goes wrong, your system is bricked and almost completely unrecoverable.

Err on the side of caution, if you ask me.

^^ Too true the words Flashing are ones to be wary of, I was just unaware of a new BIOS being issued by ACER they keep things quiet indeed.

However if what you say is true and that Throttling is still not being addressed I wont bother, Im just always on the lookout for a way passed Throttlestop on a permanent basis.

BIOS 1.16 fixes the problem with Acer Arcade launching instead of a regular Windows system, which is very annoying if it happens often and especially annoying when it happens like three times in a row.
If you don't have this problem or it happens rarely there's no reason to update BIOS but in my case it was very annoying so I was happy they finally fixed it.

I deleted Arcade Instant-On when I did a clean install of Vista Ultimate way back when, so it's a non-issue for me at least.

A bit of old topic, as the BIOS 1,16 itself, but still...

Let me turn you attention to something else, besides throltling temperatures and ect.

    My story:
I've got mine 6920g more than 2 years now and if I remember right, I had upgraded my stock bios to v1.10 soon as I've start using it back then.
Didn't look for updates since then, until about month and half or so.

I've desided to upgrade my processor, ram, video and hard disk (for which I'm very greateful to this forum), so first preparation was to update my bios to v1.16, hoping that this will help for my faster RAM to be correctly recognised.

This fixed mine Arcade deluxe starting instead Vista, also I'm not shure, but I didn't had problems anymore with my Cine Dash console (volume control freese), but maybe is just luck.

Anyway, here is where my problem started and realised later that maybe the new BIOS cause it.
I bought new and lasting longer 5200mAh battery about 3 moths ago. I still was able to watch 1 HD movie at the time of bios upgrade, so I consider it as in good health.

Moving on: I made my first for this laptop Factory reset - wishing to upgrade my laptop with clean install to be shure that no malicious software will mess up with my tests later. It went well, acer installed all his crab, which I had uninstalled later, exept some critical programs I needed.

At this moment my battery lost the ability to charge at max 100% but to 89%, degrading slowly.
Now, I'm keeping my laptop almoust 24h on with my battery in, I know what it would do to my battery, but this is something totaly different.

First I thought this is something to do with my new "clean" Windows Vista 32, so I made few calibration cicles to let Windows detect when this battery is realy empty and when is totaly full.
Result - It was unable to charge it more than 85%

    Bummer!

Then I've decided to Upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit intending to try and install 2x4GB RAM pc6400 800mHz.
Instalation was quick and clean (no more acer's crab)
Max battery charge - 84, shortly goes down to 83%
Battery indicator was still "Charging", yellow charging light also says the same, just cannot reach more than that.

    Bummer!

Then I plundered Google for some knowledge.

(Have to stop for now, I'm still at work and will finish this later)

Already tryed bunch of "solutions" unsuccessfully.
There is plenty people complaining about this in M$ Win7 forum, blaiming Windows itself, without answer from M$ other than "Buy New Battery".
Same answer is when people turn to manifacturer itself (Support).

They don't face the problem, how brand new batteries get "wasted" in 2-4 weeks time.
In my case, now - I can't charge more than 55% after 2-3 weeks on Win 7.
I've disabled critical notifications ect, and when my batery goes to 0% I'm still able to use my laptop for 30 min or so...

So the charge is there, just AHCI or bios cannot read it properly.
(allready tryed ti uninstall/reinstall AHCI battery controler in multple variations with battery/AC on/off - no result)

Anyway, While some people barking at Windows 7 Support, other sayed that even reverting with factory reset back to Win Vista 64 doesn't fix the problem.
Windows, also 3-th party software get readings from Bios and motherboard's AHCI, so they show same result. (I'm ot a guru, so I might talk bunch of BullSh - corect me if I'm wrong)

So my question generally is: How can i revert/downgrade my BIOS in Windows 7 64bit?

This is maybe my only option.

    Thank you!
