My problem is that if I set maximum processor power to 60% (i dont need 100% to surf the net) then anywhere between 5 and 15 minutes processor power jumps back to 100% on its own.
Doesnt matter what power plan I use. (High performance, power saver or even a custom power plan)

I would like to have it remain at 60% for surfing and then select high performance plan when I need it.

Any help appreciated. I have seen the "performance halving" thread due to too much voltage to the cpu but here it jumps to 100%.

    Thanks,
    James

Jim, the performance halving thread has to do with the CPU's own thermal protection downclocking it.
This sounds more like conflicting software. Do you have Acer ePower on your system? That and Vista's Power Management might be clashing.
