    Ok...
I have no idea what has happened
but the AC adapter cant supply power to the laptop

    Specs:
    Intel Core 2 Duo T8100
    NVIDIA Geforce 9500M GS
    4gb RAM
    Win7 Ultimate 64x

I left my laptop on and went out to watch a movie (inception to be exact)
and i come back and found that my laptop had shut down, with the side power lights not on. (didnt have my battery plugged in
I check the adaptor and the green light is off too
I plug the battery in and i can open my laptop
but the power supply isnt working
The green light on my adapter is on if i replug the cable. but as SOON as i plug it into the laptop it dies....
So.... I opened the laptop with my battery, and defaulted all my settings in RMClock and NVIDA system tools But it still doesnt turn on...
    can have help ASAP please
    thanks =D

Oh and the power supply doesnt smell burnt, but it was only 2 and a half hours later before i got home to find it dead xD

It happens from time to time- luckily 6920G uses very popular PSU- probably 90W 4.74A with a connector typical to Acer.
One of your friends may have a PSU like that so you may be able to test if the notebook starts properly with a PSU that’s known to work.
If so these PSUs are available on the net and not too expensive. Also it's possible that you or one of your friends or family members may have a PSU like that that belongs to a notebook that’s already retired.
I had this type of PSU in 4 consecutive notebooks since 2003 and I'm using one right now (mind you not all were Acers).
One of those PSUs died just like yours did BTW.

So check your notebook with an identical PSU and if it starts properly try to buy/fins a new PSU like this.

I went to buy a new adaptor today...
    worked at the store...
but the same thing happened when i got home to try it out
Could it be something wrong with the actual power socket on the laptop?
Then that would be a hardware problem...
unluckily theres no PC repair stores close by thats open today lol what luck... =.=

Check it with another wall outlet or surge protector just to be sure but yes it's possible that it's a notebook hardware fault, not the PSU.

yea tried it with other outlets...
the PSU goes off as soon as i plug it into the pc....
I tested my new power supply and it worked, meaning the power supply is fine
I am wondering HOW it might have happened, because i wasnt there when it did, and it was working perfectly normal before i left, which is why i was so surprised
Temperatures were normal and idle too before i left...
anyways will see technician to get it fixed/checked
dont want to send to acer because it will take too long + warranty expired too

there is probably some short-circuit so it would be probably the best if some technician would check it...

Common problem with this line of laptop (Aspire 6920(G), 6930(G), 7920/30(G)) is that the DC Jack's cabling breaks, generally the negative terminal (outermost, black wire). It'll need to be resoldered. Replacing the thing yourself in a 6920 is a BEAR without having done it a few times.

ok i went to get it checked... and replaced if needed, but it turned out it works fine with the new adaptor i bought...
    (what a waste of money)
The AC adaptor that came with the laptop is broken instead
(which was weird since i tested them both for 2 days and it didnt work... but worked at the repair place... @@)
I was thinking... what is a compatible model of the AC adaptor for the 6920g?
i wanna return the new one a bought coz it was a bit expensive.. + its a universal adaptor therefore has alotta parts to it i dont need
or shud i just stick with this adaptor anyways...
