Halloo evrybody, and compliments for this forum, i've got an issue with my internal Hdd of my acer laptop. Is a WDC 320Gb partitioned in three parts 153.59Gb C: 149.79Gb D: and 3.81Gb Z: NTFS. Now the problem is that in the Z partition i think there are file for the e recovery restore management and evrytime a viruscan is reading in the partition the lappy freeze and i have to force the shutdown by holding/pressing the startup button on the laptop.. i tryed using chkdsk/f/r in the partition but at 20% is blocking always, i downloaded westerndigital datalifeguard diagnostic but while running diagnostic same thing happen.. and i'm wondering what to do.. for the moment i solved just avoidin the programmed antivirus scanners, making a personalized one with exclusion of that partition.. i suspect some cluster is gone in that part of the HDD. Now the question is: how to save the recovery partition for future restore of my lappy in case i need it and how to format the 3Gb avoiding windows to use the clusters that are gone. Somewhere i heard about low level format but i don't know how to proceed!
in attachment is a pic of the Z partition, is the recovery one?![]()

It's not a recovery partition by the looks of things.
Recovery partition is hidden but you should be able see it from disk management in Control Panel/ Administrative tools (it would be called PQRSERVICE or something like that)
Z may be Acer Arcade partition.
BTW post a full SMART status of your HDD if you want any help diagnosing potential hardware issues. -
..i checked out in disk management and i found an unlabeled EISA partition of 12Gb
in the attachments also a S.M.A.R.T. status :GEEK:

Could you post a SMART status that would also show RAW value (i.e. from HDTune health tab)?

Replace the drive as soon as possible.
Nothing can be done here and there are multiple sectors that have already been re-allocated and quite a lot still waiting to be re-allocated.
Back up your data immediately and buy another drive. -
Then should i use the eRecovery managment or another program for the backup?
How will i proceed to migrate the sytem with all the programs and games installed on the new one? it is possible with paragon partition manager or partition magic using an external Hdd? and while i will migrate evrything on the external drive there will be the probability that while reading from the Z partition the whole operation will get stucked?
Thx in advance!
