    Hi there,

My Acer 6920g battery used to last around max 2 hours, now i only get around 45 minutes. The laptop is nearly 2 years old. Acer Epower is telling me that the battery is in good condition. When i bought the laptop the battery life was a weakness in the first place.

    Hi,

any laptop battery is losing capacity over time. This is normal, unfortunately. You may install Battery Bar and see what it reports for the "battery wear".

Hey, thanks of your reply and program,

the program tells me I have battery wear of 48.8% of 53280 mWh, is this poor, despite what epowering is telling me? Should I get a new battery?

I am also planning to instal windows 7 ultimate, heard it increases battery life by up to 1 hour.

    Thanks,

    Olly163

This wear level seems about right- I usually see it at 1-2% a month so 48% in almost two years seems justified.
Don't count on Windows 7 significantly improving your battery life- it may be 5 min but it may be nothing too. If you a significant increase in battery life you need a new battery- preferably a quality one.

There are fairly cheap high capacity batteries.

    14.8v 4800mah types.

Not only would it be a fresh battery but it would be even larger than the first. I would expect around 3 hours.

    Hi again,

Bascially my battery has completely gone.

Can anyone recommend a place to get a new battery which would be longer lasting? the model is Acer Aspire 6920G-583G32Bn.

I have seen batteries from amazon, but im unsure to order because it doesn't mention "583G32Bn".

Currently my battery is 11.1V 4400mAh model AS07B41

    Thanks

It will not mention 583G32Bn because this number means your config (I assume T5800, 3GB RAM and 320GB HDD, am I right?)
There are dozens of possible configs of 6920Gs and it has nothing to do with battery.
Buy one that's meant for 6920G and if I may make a recommendation- not a Sony one.

    Thanks downlaods,

You are correct about my model, (its also in the sig).

When I go for example to the official Acer store there is a battery for the AS 6920G:

    Code:
    http://store.acer.com/store/aceremea/en_GB/pd/productID.218923500/categoryId.52467200
But looking at the shape of the battery pic, that will definately not fit. However, looking at some other sites, they seem to have the correct shape.
    So its a bit confusing.

    Thanks,

    Olly163 :)

Yeah in a sig... boy am I a bright spark

Mind the note "displayed picture is for demonstration purposes only"- it's some kind of battery- not the battery.
You can be sure that Acer will send you the proper one.
