My battery has been dead for a while now, and with that I mean even on a fully charged battery my laptop will last for maybe 2 minutes max and I basically cannot use it unless it is plugged in.

It's been operating fine when plugged in for almost half a year but today all of a sudden it will not even boot up. It worked earlier this morning but as soon as I got to work, I had this problem. I tried fidgeting the cord around as well, but it did not seem to help.

Do I need to buy a new battery? A new power adapter? Or both?

Tried using an iGo universal power adapter which worked (using a 102 pin), so I believe it's just my power adapter's connection is faulty. Any suggestions on where to buy one? I want to make sure I'm buying a genuine adapter

Call Acer and order one: 1-866-658-2237. Have your serial number handy.

Thanks for your help, my laptop was still under warranty so I was able to order a new power adapter + power cord for free as long as I sent in my defective one.

Gotta say their customer support was fast, friendly, and helpful. So kudos to Acer.
