    Hi there. I have a problem with an Acer 6930. I replaced an LCD screen using another forum post:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/acer/368769-acer-aspire-6930-screen-replacement.html

    I put the laptop back together and powered it up, but now the screen won't power up at all. It remains black, as if it wasn't powering up. I tested the new screen, by plugging the old one back in, and it won't power up either. BTW, the old screen was cracked, but worked. Could the inverter have been inadvertantly damaged, while putting the bezel on, or something? It's the only thing I can think of that could cause the issue. I can't think of any other reason why it wouldn't power up. Does anyone else have any ideas as to why this is happening?

    try first to connect to external monitor (e.g CRT, or LCD monitor)
    if you got images on it (external monitor), try to check flexible data cable from motherboard to LCD panel.

    but if no images on external monitor, maybe graphic card has a problem

    The external screen is working. I checked all the connections, and even plugged the old screen in. That didn't do it. I think the screen inverter got damaged or blew. Anyone else know anything about Acer Screen Inventers?

    ok, that would be a good condition of Graphic chipset ;)

    many types of inverter (CCFL inverter) uses connector that consists of 4-6 pin. But not all of connector is used or electrically connected to inverter circuit.

    Many types of inverter only need 4 data line, and all can run at only 3 data line.

    this is line that inverter need to run ;
    1. VCC (connect to power source, 5V-19V)
    2. ENA (enable pin, connect to received enable signal from motherboard to activated circuit) .... usually 3V for high ... and 0V for low
    3. BRT (brightness control, received PWM signal from motherboard to control how bright is LCD panel) ..... can ignored
    4. PGND (power ground)
    so, as you can see .... actually, inverter only need VCC, PGND, and ENA :)

    Then, you can check every connection or test point, and it must have 5V-19V (VCC) and 3V(ENA).

    in most cases, ENA pin is loss ... or only have 0V, so inverter circuit is not activated or work.
