You know how with Win98 there was a floppy to startup the computer to reinstall the win98 disc.... My new laptop did not come with a start up disc... how is this done? I have no original disc... can this be ordered thru Acer or do I have to purchase a disc from Microsoft? Whats up with this?

When you get your laptop, they are not supplied with any disks. You have to make them yourself.

On your hdd, there is a hidden partition called PQService, this contains everything you need to make your backup disks (Windows, Drivers and Apps).

Your laptop is supplied with software to do this, it is called ERECOVERY. It is an acer program with the empowerment suite. Within this program there will be an option to make backup disks of your computer. Do this asap as you may need these in the future.

I'm log in as administrator in Windows XP but seems to me eRecovery is something that only deal with Acer...isn't it?It's nice for Acer to tell me eRecovery is only available for those with administrator privilege but they could let me know how to do it...or send me to a box where I could do it...no?

P.S.No matter what I try...ALT-F10 or clicking on eRecovery I get that same message...I need administrator privilege to use it.How to get administrator privilege then ?...not a word.
I also did try to go to C/: then to i386 then to winnt32 but that doesn't work either. After typing my serial key,I get a message error 1722...there's a problem with this Windows Installer package...and should contact my support personnel.Seems obvious they do all they can to prevent peoples to play with these things and ask them to send them back so they can do a few more bucks.
