    Hello Gang,

I've been looking around for a while now about the possibility of upgrading my RAM on my 6930G with 2x4GB (800MHz PC2-6400 DDR2), which appears to work for the 6930g, I was wondering if anyone had any experience in fitting 8gig to 6930g who could offer me advice?

I upgraded the CPU with an e8335 a while back and I am quite happy that it is running quite smooth, so I don't really need to upgrade that, but I am interested about the concept of upgrading to a quadcore, but have seen only one user on this board who has upgraded it without issues.

e8335 is a fine choice, don't think there is a quad core option for this laptop though.

According to the chipset data sheet 8gb should be possible but i read reports of 6930g owner(s) saying they tired but it wasn't all recognised, Acer's manual dosn't list 2X4GB modules as supported.

Indeed, but i've read other account saying it's worked perfectimundo!

It seems to be a bit of a lottery!

Do you think it would make a difference if it was 677 or 800 MhZ (With regards to compatibility).

On a Side Note: How has your E8335 faired with O/C'ing, Undervolting?

There is one person who I have seen on this forum who appears to be using a QC, how he has done this though, is a bit of a mystery. Must be very lucky indeed!

would be intrested to get a definitve answer on the QC.

My e8335 has been fine, undervolted runs @ 2.93ghz on 0.987v.

Can't overclock though, never found a program that supports the 6930g's pll.
