Considering the 6930G for purchase but need some clarification on the cooling

Which of the three wholes does the fan intake and which does ita exhaust, also can you label the other vents (sometimes vents are fake and actually are just for looks) so ya
It would be great I am guessing intake is the bottom and exhaust is in the back but I am unsure of the vent on the side there too
-
Here is how it looks like under the hood:
-
So it appears the fan sucks air from the side?
-
Yeah I think so. The other holes appear to be for the RAM(Acer usually cover this holes with foil, not sure why!) and the second bay for HDD.
-
darn that rules out the Acer
-
Because a cooler will take insignificant effect..?
-
Yup, exactly! I will wait to see if anyone else can confirm this just to make sure we are right
-
So both side and rear are exhaust 0.0 ?
-
It's pretty common design for an Acer, mine is designed the same way. It's not freakin' awesome, but I'm OK with it, and my Cooler Master Infinite do its job perfectly (7-10 degrees lower under load
).
-
Yup, both those vents (ones with the red arrows in above pic) are exhausts
-
I looked at some more pictures on Acer Japan's site, it appears that side vent is a dummy
-
it would be a dummy vent if the unit had no discrete video. on those that do, it serves a purpose
-
Thanks, just to confirm the intake is on the bottom and the side and rear of the notebook fan are exhaust?
It would be nice if some more owners could confirm this as this is The Most Important Part of the Notebook -
there are "intake" vents on the bottom and the exhaust is the side and rear. there is no explicit intake vent as the fan draws air from all over the notebook to keep all the components cool.
the main exhaust is the rear, and if the unit has a discrete gpu solution, then the side is for that.
