I don't know the problem, I just got my notebook recently and I played the Crysis demo for a while with no problems.
My first instinct is to lower performance settings in the Power Options for Plugged in mode. The only difference between the battery and ac power would be the power configurations. I assume the battery settings are set lower?

Ok...I guess it makes sense to say that your computer works well enough to play Crysis if you can do it with the battery without out problems.
The only factor added was the AC adapter. Is it the same adapter that originally came with the Notebook?
Mine is a LiteOne 100-240v Input and 19V output, is yours the same?
Perhaps its not pulling enough power from your wall outlet or Power strip.
Try plugging it directly into a different wall outlet.

    Driver version is 7.15.11.7924
I think its safe to say the video drivers work though, since you are able to play Crysis without problems.
