hi every one, i have a question and is very simple. My acre is the model 6930g with a p7450 a graphic card ati 4650 and 2 hard drives. i have already done overclock in my graphic card but i cant do in my cpu.
Can someone tell me how can i do??? because i have already saw a lot of notebooks that the cpu could reach 2.5ghz, so i think that it is also possible do in the acer 6930g.

CPU overclocking is a lot harder to do than GPU overclocking in most cases, and it is far less recommended.
    I'd say not to bother.

I've got a 6930G as well, and have searched high and low for the answer. Unless someone designs a new bios or finds some secret menu in there, then all we can hope for is a PLL software tweaker, the current one that everyone seems to use - setfsb does not support the PLL chip that the 6930G uses which in this case is SLG8SP512T.

I'd look into undervolting though, mine originally came with a T6400 (R0) which I could run on 1v at max speed reducing heat output by about 10c, then I upgraded to an E8335 (E0) which will run all day at 2.93Ghz on 0.987v, saved me about 15c and better battery run times thent he T6400. CPUgenie is a great program for this, way better then RMclock imo and definatly worth the $15 they want for it.

On another note, is your ATi HD4650 the DDR 2 or DDR3? Did it come with your laptop or did you buy it somewhere?

I paid £115 inc postage, I'm in the UK and the seller was a UK based ebay store, still has them listed but the price has gone up a little to £124.99 but still a great price for what is effectivly a rebadged T9800. Search for SLGEB and you'll find it.

If you buy one beware, the seller ships them in the original iMac motherboard, brand new from the looks of things, the board didn't have a trace of dust anywhere but at first I thought he sent me the wrong item until i looked under some foam he had taped over the PGA socket containing the chip, its lucky the courier was arsey and didn't let me inspect the package as I would have not spotted the CPU and rejected the package.

Anyway, its a great little CPU, some features I wasn't aware it supported like VT-x and SuperLFM so it'll throttle right back to 800mhz on 0.975v.

Ya that was the point I was trying to make, its not supported by setfsb, I emailed the setfsb guy but he says "since website got a million hits, no more support for setfsb" or something like that, basically I think he's accomplished whatever it was he set out to do and has had enough. Until someone writes another program looks like we're out of luck.
