First off I would like to apologise for starting yet another thread along these lines.
I have scoured the internet as best as I could and checked every thread under this category before opening this one but I simply cannot find an answer to what I am trying to do.
I have read a lot of reports, on this site as well as others, of people doing the same, similar and greater upgrades than what I am trying to do. I have tried several times to upgrade from my T6400 to a T9550 with no luck (which it turned out was a blown chip) so I tried a smaller jump first, T6400 - P7550 but I am still having problems. Whenever I put the new CPU in and fire up the laptop I get power to the fans, and the power light comes on but the screen stays completely blackI read about one guy who had accidentally pulled out his LCD cable whilst doing the upgrade but I know it's not this as dropping my T6400 back in stops all issues.
The main difference between these chips is the FSB - T6400 is 800 and T9550/P7550 is 1066 - so I am assuming this is where my problem is stemming from. I know I am missing something which is frustratingly obvious but I am just at a loss.
If any one can point me in the correct direction for solving this issue it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Dan

Is your BIOS the most current one?

A friend of mine pointed out to me thought that one of the pins on the P7550 was bent so in 20 minutes I will have another crack at it. -
Yep, the bent pin was the issue. Thank god, i was scared I was gonna have to write a big apology letter to the other guy. Sorry for the false alarm

Haha. What does THAT mean tunay?
Would've made my day if we found out about an accidental pinmod going on.
Anyway, just popped in to mention you can upgrade your graphics card on the 6935g. The most powerful card available is in the marketplace here, a AMD 6770m gddr5.
If you're looking for performance in games, it will help a lot more than the CPU.
2nd best option is probably the 5730, which can be found along with the 250m, all from Dell machines.
