    Hi all,

New to this forum hopefully someone can help me. Have an intermittent sound problem. The sound goes distorted, almost like interference. This can come and go. When the drivers are uninstalled and re installed it is fine again then the issue happens again. Ive tried updating the realtek hd audio drivers but the problem seems to happen again and again.

Ive recently installed windows7 ultimate 64 bit but this is not the cause of the problem and it occured before when windows vista was installed. The problem usually happens whenever watching streaming videos online or when I sign into msn messenger for example.

The spec of the laptop is

    Core 2 Duo T6400
    3GB DDR3
    250GB HDD

Im not sure if this makes any difference but it says Dolby home theater on the speaker of the laptop. is the only sound drivers needed the realtek ones?

Under device manager and sound controllers when I click on it there seems to be 2 devices - High definition audio device and Realtek high definition audio.

hopefully someone knows how to solve this problem for me

    Thanks in advance
