    A big warning:

The Acer Aspire One 721 and likely also the 1551 will not work with an Intel x25-m G2 SSD, and possibly not with other SSDs as well. The SSD is not detected in the BIOS, so Windows will not install and if it could it would not be bootable anyway.

The drive is readable in Linux, so it's probable that this could be fixed with a BIOS upgrade.

Your sig says you have an OCZ Vertex, not an Intel x25-m. Did you try with an Intel SSD?

I actually returned the 721, but I tried with both 1.07 (came on the laptop) and 1.06 (latest on website).

I know it wasn't a mechanical/electrical issue since I was able to get the drive recognized under Linux (booted from a USB flash drive), just not in the BIOS. So the controller is compatible with the drive, just not the BIOS. Unfortunately that means that you can't boot from the drive.
