Hey Guys =),
I've got an Acer Aspire 7530G with the AMD X2 Dual Core system, it's about 10 months old now, and I've lost my patience with it, so I need some help...
Basically, for 7 of these 10 months, I've had problems with the laptop overheating and cutting out, it's been getting steadily worse as time goes by.
Anyway, I downloaded SpeedFan the other day on a friends recommendation, and the results it is showing me are really concerning me.
My laptop has been on for 30 mins today, and was on for an hour earlier today,
All I have running at the moment is Google Chrome and Speedfan, but my GPU's are Idling at 78 Celcius and 74 Celcius, with my CPU nudging 90 Celcius in some cases (It's at 78 at this very minute). I should probably add that at this time my cpu usage is at 0.8%.
What I'm wondering is if there is something genuinely wrong with my laptop, or whether there is something I can do at home about it (Please note I'm useless with tools)
Just for the record, the laptop is currently sitting on a hard chair, which hasn't got a back so air can flow (and is flowing) nicely, but in the past I have had to elevate it with boxes that are a good 6 inches tall just to stop it packing up on me yet again, I have been putting it on boxes even on my desk (which is freezing cold) because it's overheating on the desk as well =(.
There is a computer repair shop nearby that I can take my laptop to, but I'm strapped for cash at the moment, so if I can do it myself, then I will
Any Ideas will be greatly appreciated

Welcome to the forums, jnw9!
Have you cleaned out your system's fans and air intake/exhaust? When dust accumulates there, it reduces the ability of your cooling system to transfer heat away from the CPU and GPU. -
Going to pretty much mimic TS here. Worked on a bunch of those, and the 7520/30 is a pretty beastly dust accumulator. Clean it up, and it should handle your overheating problem.

Thanks guys =) I'll give it a shot, any ideas where I can get a compressed air gun to clean it out with? Or will I need to unscrew the back and clean it out manually?
Just to note, my GPU is now at 97C, it's actually burnin my hand when I pick it up =/ -
You don't get a gun, you get a can, and most computer stores will stock it.
