I have a question i have not been able to find the anwser too to save my life. Id like to know what is the max processor the bios supports (or board for that mater).
Id like to upgrade to the AMD X940 ( AMD Processors for Notebooks: AMD Turion? 64 X2 Mobile Technology, AMD Athlon? 64 X2 Dual-Core, Mobile AMD Sempron? Processor ), but i dont know if i can. Vs what it has now its a 45watt processor vs a 35 watt. I am not concernd with battery life honestly, more with performance.
Heat may be a issue though as well, given the increase in speed and power. But im working on that problem too. Anyways if anyone knows what the bios supports in terms of processor that would be awsome. I do have the latest v1.18 bios. Thanks in advance :)

It's hard to tell- in theory it should work (apart from possibility that BIOS won't recognize CPU microcode) but 45W TDP might make it completely useless.
It's possible that the notebook will start overheating because of TDP difference and the fact that CPUs in these notebooks (555x/755x) tend to run quite hot even without such modifications.

Unfortunately service guide for this unit is not available so it's all a bit of a guess.
