I have some questions about this mirific laptop. If you could answer one or two of them plz do.
    1. My integrated wireless adapter starts at the boot. How do I make it not to?
    2. The same with the bluetooth.
    3. I have some media buttons under my numpad stop, back, play/pause and forward. They don't work. Does anybody know how to make them work?
    4. How can I remap the fn key shortcuts? I saw some stuff in registry but I don't understand how the codes work F5FD and stuff.

    Thank you!

P.S. A word of advice. Install Vista. At first I said I don't need that s*** and struggled with XP and the lack of drivers for it. With Vista was much easier, has drivers for AHCI and I really love the volume mixer. Controlling each of the applications volume blows my mind.

    1. Go to BIOS F2 and disable network boot
    2. Bluetooth should be initialised only at OS level as it is USB
If you must disable it at MSCONFIG.exe
    3. First check if it works in mediaplayer if you want to change it look at this
    [IMG]
Locate the name of the shortcut and change the circles in orange accordingly
The picture above is my customed shortcut on useless buttons
Don't need to touch remote code
Remember to do Windows Disk CleanUp or you will be complaining about laggy laptop in a few weeks or even months depending on usage patterns

Hi catalin66, and welcome to the forums!
Not sure about 1, 2 or 4, but the media buttons are controlled by the Dritek Launch Manager program. Head over to Acer's Download page here, select your model and Windows Vista, then download the program! It's under the Applications tab.

Launch Manager controls only the Internet, Mail and big e buttons. When I say media buttons I say stop, back, play and forward which should control the winamp. I have to say that it doesn't work through global hotkeys in winamp.

Well, have you tried holding the Fn key and then pressing on the play, back, pause, etc buttons? That's how it used to be in my Lenovo..

Really? I guess the 7720ZG uses a different circuitry than my 6920G - Launch Manager definitely handles the CineDash media controls.

I believe that it should work this way but maybe it's a problem of software :-??
