    Hi
I'm new here, I recently (yesterday) purchased an Acer 7736Z from online.
But alike my friend who bought an Acer 7736G from Currys online about a week ago, the vertical scroll bar gesture on the touchpad will not function.

I've tried reinstalling the 'Alps Pointing Device' driver, and have even tried installing with the Synaptics multi-finger gesture modifications drivers.

My touchpad seems to let me scroll horizontally and perform finger gestures in the main part of the touchpad, but it will not let me scroll up and down like most touchpads - however, the two-finger multi-directional scrolling gesture does work.
It is a multi-gesture touchpad, and I've installed many different drivers.

But it doesn't seem to be working.
It seems that Synaptics is worse, I can only move the cursor and click.

This is a bit of a pain, because already I've installed half a ton of software on my system.
Thus, I'm hoping Acer are the ones in error, and there is some kind of software fix.

Also, I've heard about the same issue online.
But it doesn't seem that many have reported it as yet, but as it is, it was only that notebook that seemed to be most in stock ~ so may be not many know about this issue, and those who have, have returned it?

I hope this isn't a hardware issue, so much!
So I wonder if any of you can help me!

I baught a Acer 7736g today and the vertical scrollbar on touchpad does work and works perfectly fine for me. You click on the touchpad scrollbar once and slide ur finger up or down and should work. good luck hope it helped. but considering you downloaded a lot of programs or software it kind of messed it up, you will need to take it to currys and ask them how to get it fixed.
