It worked fine with vista, after installing Windows 7 the touch panel wont work as it should. I installed the latest Launch manager driver from Acers website.

First of all, the Launch manager looks alot older than the previous one despite its a new version. Play, stop, foward, rewind, mute buttons work as they should. But the sound volume doesnt, when im pressing volume up and down a text shows up on the screen " Volume" but the thing is that it wont go up or down. The volume pins jumps back and foward.

    What is this?

I have THE EXACT same problem, I'm running Windows 7 Professional x64 on my ACER ASPIRE 7738G. Although I managed to make it work a few weeks ago, a strange thing happened. The mediatouchpad on the right just stopped working. I mean it stop being lit up. No blue light on the volume bar no white light on the media control buttons. I thought it was a hardware problem and wanted to send it to warranty. Miraculously it started working again after 2 or 3 days, during a restart of my pc the lights reappeared but now i was missing my drivers because i kept reinstalling the synaptics touchpad, the keyboard and generic hid drivers. The media buttons work (play, stop, forward, rewind, mute, media center and hold) but the volume bar still won't work. The windows action center has that little flag that displays any issues detected by windows down in the tray and it keeps popping up stating that i need to solve my Nuvoton Generic HID driver problem. I'm thinking that may be the problem and i reinstalled the driver over and over. It still won't work. I even tried reinstalling the realtek sound drivers absurdly thinking that might solve it. Still nothing. Any help from you guys is well embraced. Thanks!

Try holding the acer media delux icon for 20 seconds, it should light up when the program runs.

well, that worked for me,
