Hi guys, im trying to find a solution to this,

its been goin on since i bought it,
often when i play games when alot of things happen in the same time,
it seems the gpu holds its breath and then the fan goes up,and then gaming is better, its liek it cant take the sudden demand and have to freeze,

I tryed disable a feature in the CCC panel, but it just helped slightly.
Do you guys know if its a faulty gpu or if the drivers sucks,
or a software to stop the throtteling when theres multiple things going on?

    Thank you in advance

You probably need to clean the notebook's cooler. A fresh layer of high-quality thermal paste may help too.

Then it's probably cheap/low quality thermal paste used by the OEM, or a poorly designed system.

It has to be the former because 7740G has a decent cooling system to say the least.

    @OP
    I'm pretty sure it's HD5650 not 5950.

oh lol, ya your right :p

so by dissasembling the whole thing and removing the cpu and applying new paste could help the gpu hickups?

Possibly although that may also be driver related.
Do you keep drivers up to date or maybe still use Acer's own drivers?

Still there's no hard in cleaning the radiator and applying new thermal paste.
Even if it doesn't help you'll rule out one reason and at the same time ensure that the cooling system is at its best.

    EDIT: Renamed the thread.

It is likely the GPU that needs new paste, not the CPU.
