Hi,
I'm new to the Acer thread on NBRF and I will be getting a Acer 7750G very soon, specs for the configuration I bought:
17.3" (1600x900)
i5-2430M
4GB DDR3-1333 (Upgrading to 8GB DDR3-1866)
HD 6850M 1GB
750GB 5400 RPM (Adding 120GB SSD)
DVD Writer
Wireless N (Upgrading to Intel 6205 5Ghz)
USB 2.0 and 3.0
6-Cell Battery (Didn't like the 9-Cell bulk)
I'm selling my current Y570 for this laptop as a desktop replacement, the Y570 is a great performance laptop with many good features however it does not satisfy my need for desktop.
There were many other 17.3" laptops I was considering mainly the Toshiba Qosmio X775 with i5-2430M and GTX 560M however given the price difference $400 I'm paying the GTX 560M and extras features I chose to go with less expensive Acer 7750G with HD 6850M mainly because I'm not a hardcore gamer.
Another consideration was the Lenovo G770 with i5-2430M and HD 6650M because I've grown to love the keyboard, built design and consumer support of the Lenovo but fact is the HD 6650M is not as fast as a HD 6850M and so I opted for the 7750G which should a bit more future proof for gaming/video editing.
I think I'm happy with my decision on the Acer 7750G even though the laptop has not arrived yet but given the price/performance ratio on this laptop plus room for upgrades I think I've made a good choice.
