This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Acer 8100 new Drivers 09 March 2005

    A full new set of drivers is present at the Acer download sites.

    They inlcude new (depending on when you got your system) drivers for the ATI, power management and Intel 915 chipset support, among 9 others. The 3 once mentioned above may help in resolving the flicker problem mentioned in other posts.

    I say "may", because i still believe a BIOS upgrade will be needed. At this moment there is no new BIOS posted by ACER. The links below point to the drivers, manuals and also to BIOS upgrades once they become available.

    Attention: I looked at the 'file date'. Some of you may already have the lates version when comparing version number. Also remember that there are regional Acer download sites that may have slightly diferent content !!!
