I recently tried to play a couple of dvd's and found that picture and music with lyrics played fine but voices of people was low as 2 on a scale of 1-10.

    Any help appreciated.

sounds like the same issue with playing movies on VHS or even home DVD players...

where the sound is pumped way up, and the dialog is hard to hear... it has to do with the audio not being remastered for use in home systems... but it would sound great in a true home theater..
