    Hi guys and girls

After brivking myself whilst removing the front bezel from the lcd, I've finally managed to fix my orbicam. For a couple of months now everytime I tried to use the camera, the software would say things like orbicam already in use etc. I can't guarantee that this fix will be for everyone but I took the following steps in fixing the orbicam.

1 - whilst laptop is on, take off front bezel and disconnect orbicam.
2 - restart laptop and login
3 - reconnect orbicam whilst laptop is on.
    4 - start using orbicam.

    That was it.

If you have any questions then I'm happy to answer.

Remember that the wires connecting the orbicam are very very thin so assume that they're also fragile. I would wedge a small flat-head screw driver between the connectors to pull them apart. Also the connector is both at the base of the LCD (Just left of center) and inside the orbicam casing. I would dismantle the orbicam casing if I were to do it again as it's easier. However don't forget to earth yourself as touching the electronics could be damaging to the CCD.

brimful, thanks for the info. Finally had the courage to unscrew, disconnect and then reconnect the bottom connectors, and voila.

But... perhaps the clamps are not tight enough or something, and the fact the lid has to open and close, the problem reoccurs. Windows (Vista Ultimate SP1) occasionally says a hardware is plugged, and unplugged, and automatically installs its driver, etc. I believe its electrical, so its gone haywire. I even get BSODs, occasionally, that I finally disabled through the Device Manager until I get this figured out.
