    Acer 8204 vs acer 4674

    I am really confused now. I have to decide whether to get the 8204 or the 4674. As far as I know, the only differences are:

    8204: ATI X1600 graphics card
    4674: ATI X1400 graphics card

    8204: carbon fiber lid
    4674: plastic?

    8204: camera
    4674: no camera.

    If those are the ONLY differences, how does the 8204 cost over $500 more than the 4674? Someone please fill me in, thanks.

    The screen on the 8204 is a WSXGA and the 4674 is WXGA

    8204 comes with a smart card and VOIP phone. Not saying those justify the cost but those are differences.

    i say go for the 8204. then again if you want something more flashy which is within this machine's market price range, go for an Acer Ferrari 4006 with the 2.2ghz turion 64 processor.

    8204 has an X1600, which is MUCH better than a X1400

    even X700s are more powerful than X1400s

    CPU won't make much difference

    Alright, so the Acer 8204 has:
    Phone
    Smart Card
    X1600
    Higher res. screen
    Carbon fiber :)

    Still, I don't see a justification for that costing $560. Can someone link that page with every graphics card named out for ATI and Nvidia, comparing them, and putting them into 5 categories...That was a really nice page.

    Also, has anyone had those common buzzing, lcd problems in the 4674 like the 8204?

    And finally, how much bloatware does Acer usually install on their systems, compared to say, HP. When I got my HP, there was AOL, ebay, msn, and various trial software installed. It pissed me off. Does Acer do that as well?

    Hmmm, there was another one that had all the graphics cards put into 5 categories, both ATI and Nvidia. It was very informative
