You can put any MXM 3.0A GPU, if it is compatible. I think the list is the same as for 5739G - 4670M, GT240M, GTS250M, HD6770M, HD7770M, FirePro M5950, FirePro M4000, FirePro M5100. For more information you should check 5739G thread. There are tons of information regarding upgrades with these GPUs. I don`t think that there will be much difference with your case. You just should keep in mind, that if you want to buy new GPU, first of all check if it has vBIOS soldered on the PCB of GPU. Or better ask us here (me, for example :D) - post link for the GPU. We`ll check it and tell to if it is compatible with your laptop or if it is plug-n-play.

See 8-pin chip on the top left side of the PCB? This is vBIOS. By the way, GTS250M will not give you good performance boost. You`d better buy this. This card has the vBIOS chip too. You only have to remove X-bracket from the PCB. With this thing you`ll not be able to install the card into your laptop. This X-bracket is a mounting bracket, that is used in DELL laptops. Mounting positions have smaller dimensions, than we have in our laptops.

Why do you think that the card is causing this? Have you tried to install old GPU?

No need to forward anything - I've seen it.

The problem is that I'm not sure what the issue is. My guess is that there is a conflict between the two audio devices. Unlike nVidia, ATI/AMD has an on-board sound chip for HDMI (made by Realtek).

This is exactly what you see as ATI HDMI audio. While I can't see why that would be a problem (I have it in my notebook and both audio devices work fine), this is the only meaningful difference between ATI and nVidia that could potentially affect audio.

I would try uninstalling the HDMI device, attempting to install normal audio driver (see if it appears once you uninstall and remove the HDMI driver).
Also try downloading ATI/AMD HDMI driver from Realtek - they also issue drivers for it and it but a different version. On my notebook I don't get HDMI audio unless I install version from Realtek (even though AMD/ATI one is installed)

What about installing HDMI driver from Realtek's website?
BIOS mods won't do a thing here by the way.
