I have own a 8920g for the last 3 weeks and Last night i was playing World of Warcraft, listening music and everything was perfect i shut down the computer. This morning i waked up and usually listen to music while i get dress and to my surprise one speak was broken the rear speaker, i think is the tuba speaks because any bass sounds terrible. and i find this weird because it was working fine

im pretty dissapointed because i like this laptop very very much the sound is awesome the big deal is that i bought this laptop in the US and i live in Mexico any suggestions?

Restart the computer, it might just be a glitch. I've had similar problems with linux and windows and a restart fixes it.

doesn't the realtek audio app have a speaker test app that would help you determin wich speaker is causing you trouble?

if it is the TUBA speaker,,, you could download the audio drivers from the REALTEK.COM site .... from what i understand, the drivers posted at REALTEK are generic drivers that do not support the tuba at all

if that is true, then you should be able to get rid of the bad sound by using the realtek driver instead of the one from ACER.

it's atleast a temporary solution until you send it in for repair.

Switch from 5.1 to 2 or from 2 to 5.1 channels. This works for me. Anyway, this happened to me only on 32 bit edition of Vista, so I believe that is a software glitch, or so.

Normal sound without tuba is really poor. Geting realtek driver will not make things better.
