How do output HDMI to my Denon AV4306. Can output VGA but how do I change settings on laptop to HDMI connection. Thanks in antisipation for any help.

Existing setup for watching downloaded films:

    I use the following equipment:
    Denon AVR 4306.
Denon DVD player with a Denon Link to 4306.
Sky HD HDMI link to AVR 4306.
HDMI from AVR 4306 to Sony Bravia 42" TV.
All works 100% and no problems.

I link my new Acer laptop to TV VGA input from laptop with audio link to Denon AVR 4306.
The quality is very good from downloaded films to my external 1TB WD hardrive and then
    played through my laptop.

What I want to know is that my laptop has a HDMI output. I have a spare HDMI input on my AVR 4306.
Can I connect from laptop by using a HDMI link. Does not seem to work. I may have to contact
Denon technical for support advice. Any comments from anybody?

I have a 8930G with HDMI and I've tried the same, outputting HDMI to Onkyo 806 reciever and the same happens.....nothing. When I conect the HDMI directly to the Panasonic plasma tv I get picture and sound for a few seconds before I get a message on the laptop saying that the graphics card driver doesnt support this function or somethig similar. Have updated to the latest driver on the ACer site but to no avail......any help out there???
