I seem to have finally solved my throttling issues on my acer 8930, I know that alot of people have this problem, mine only started when I installed a clean install of an os, dont no why but it did and im not the first to say it, anyway, Ive found when i ran rmclock and run say street fighter 4 windowed, id watch the cpu clock and throttle and after 5 min it would throttle causing the game to slow/lag and my fps went from 60 to 20 :(
Now some of it is to do with overheating and i think some is to do with the board, anyhow first I needed to stop the gpu from downclocking when it throttled and go hot, mmmm
The answer lay with powermizer, turning it off didnt work, I thought it may but setting the gpu clock in the registy to run at max all the time did !!, No more throttling or downclocking when playing sf4, fps were at 60 all the time, yes the temps were still to high but it couldnt downclock because of my settings, wow, id done it, no more lagging in games, now for the heat issue i undervolted my 8930 and bought the best thing any 8930 can buy, a cryo lx cooler, my temps on my gpu alone went from 101  to 78 :p , throttling and overheating sorted, if anybody needs any help let me know, some of you also know that windows 7 has NO powermizer in the registy, big prolem but i have sorted that to, i run windows 7 and i still achieved all this, not bad for a wee girl hey hehe, its also pretty easy to do. (credit for some of the info i learned goes to different forums) EDIT...Just to add i ran gpu-z and yep my gpu was always at its highest clock speed.

    ENJOY !! :D

Not a true solution, you should try hardware mods to lower temps.
IMO low temps mean long laptop life.

Replace Thermal pad with Copper Shims
Replace Generic Thermal paste with High Quality Thermal Paste
Add High conductive Heatsink to increase Mass of Heatsink Assembly.
    Modify Vent holes.

Ive already applied some artic silver 5 but modifying the vents is a good idea, ill also try a can of air to try and help, the rest is over my head im afraid, thanks again for your help, is there a thread on modifying the vents, I dont want to make it worse by allowing more dust to get in
