Hi guys, ive recently brought a acer 8930G, with what i thought to belive just need a reformat (was freezing at loading screen) however. I have tried everything to get it to work, ive reformatted the hard drive tested with replacement ram, changed psu and even flashed the bios ! whats happening is when ever i go to install windows from USB or cd it loads windows files then crashes as it tries to load into the first screen menu. It will boot into the bios, ive also cleared the cmos and tried another hard drive? anybody got any other advice can a graphics card/processor/mobo? cause this problem should i try it without the card installed? kind regards and any help would be much appreciated, Ryan
edit- i can now confirm the processor works, its weird becuase i can get into safe mode i put a hard drive in with vista already on...Hmmm, could it be this is a 8930 model? and the bios is wrong version for the laptop? could this cause it to persistantly "hang up" at the windows loading bar it literally freezes

In safe mode use msconfig to set selective boot options and only load essential services, enable boot logging, disable all non microsoft apps, etc.
Then reboot. If you still can't get into normal mode windows have a look at the bootlog when in safe mode. That may give you an idea of what's gone wrong. And play around with the selective startup options again.

If you can get into normal mode windows at this point use msconfig again to turn back on non microsoft apps and services gradually and rebooting in between. All being well you should be able to identify the problem app or service by looking at what app or service you just added back in when the problem reoccurs.

    Hope that makes sense?

Select diagnostic, then go back to selective, you should then be able to clear load startup items, hopefully

i can download the windows 7, the problem i have is when ever it tries to load from the disk etc, as soon as it gets to a loading screen it just "hangs up" im puzzled how it still thinks windows 7 is the operating system?shall i wipe the hard drive again? also could it be the bios? i can't distinguish if the model is a 8930 or a 8930G ? it has a blu ray and a p7350 with 9600gt, at the moment the bios is flashed at latest 8930g. Do i need to flash it with a 8930 bios? could that fix the problem or make it worse kind regards

9600M GT is definitely a 8930G. The non-G 8930 has integrated Intel graphics.

ive reformatted the hard drive again, just to confirm it wont physically let me install windows from the laptop itself, ive had to put it into another 8930 i have and install on that then transfer over,i really dont understand what the problem can be?

shall i reflash the bios to the oldest one avaliable and see if that helps?

BIOS can't go wrong on its own- if you haven't flashed a new one recently- it's not a culprit.

all the components have been tested and they work, so i really am unsure what it could be. Is the motherboard faulty? because it wont allow any installation of windows from the computer, and when i put a pre OS HD in it will only boot in safe mode, i really don't know what else i can try?
