    Hi All,

Yes I'm a newbie & could really do with some help. I have the quad version of the 8930g & have a triple boot system. I started with vista, added my copy of xp (I'm a musician, so my software didn't work on Vista) & recently installed Windows 7 64 bit to gradually remove the other 2 operating systems.

As I have never updated the bios, & read VT was possible with the updated bios I decided to do it.....big mistake.

I had no problem upgrading the bios, but when it came to reboot in windows 7 & xp the pc would cycle on & off every 5 seconds or so. I unplugged the power let it cool down & it would boot ok. Windows 7 was trashed & xp but vista still ran. I have since re-installed windows 7 & it seems ok, but when I do a windows memory diagnostic check it crashes around 4%, also the laptop doesn't beep on start up. I have tried all 3 bios downloads from acers site, but they all do the same thing. On windows 7 I have also noticed the battery icon says replace battery, which I have read can be bios related or a windows 7 bug.

With my stupid head on I never backed up my bios, & couldn't even tell you which version I had installed (I bought it in May 2009). I have tried everything I can think of, taken out the ram tried different arrangements but nothing. From reading various posts accessing the bios is a no-no with the new insydeh20 bios.

I would appreciate any advice you can offer!

    Thanks, Andy
